Organising our Life

I have been inspired (again...) to reorgnise our house.
I love that organised feeling but rarely come across it.
After stumbling across this post I thought 'I can do this! Baby steps is the key..."
So the first step, seeing as it is the easiest in my mind, is to organise our meals and my shelves of cookbooks.
I am going to start by down sizing my library of books and keep only those I actually use.
As a chronic cookbook collector we may end up with quite a pile going to new homes!

Here is what I think my actions will be (find my inspiration here):

1. Make a list of meals/snacks/desserts etc that I actually bake or cook and where to find the recipe.
2. Compile a roster of dinners for a month (maybe 1 week for a fortnight?)
3. Compile a list of ALL ingredients needed for each week of recipes so shopping is easier.
4. File it in ONE folder.

Sounds incredibly organised for me but I'm strangley excited about it! 

Maybe there is a truly organised person hiding way, WAY down inside.

We'll see how it goes...

Trash and Treasure

I love the markets and wondering what treasures I may find. It is school holidays at the moment and I have decided to visit the Trash and Treasure markets at the Grand Bazaar in Prestons.
I recently received this beauty in the mail...

Nate raves about flea markets for finding one of a kind items for your home on a tight budget. It got me thinking about markets in my area... after a quick google search i discovered the Trash and Treasure markets. I do believe a Wednesday visit is called for! Yay! I wonder what I'll find...

Organisationally Challenged!

Raise your hand if you are organisationally challenged! 

If I had more than 2 arms they would all be up!!

I would love to be organised. 

I love the feeling of being organised. 

I love how it makes my house look.

(although my house has never been organised... 

It's a facade called 'closed doors and cupboards'!)

I have just never mastered the process of being organised.

Maybe until now...

The fabulous 'Centsational Girl' has let us in on her methods of organising paper (which is pretty much the main reason for clutter in our house).

My brain is getting into interior decorating mode so I have loads of magazine tear outs floating around the house.

Escaping

I know i have only just started my blogging experience but i am already going to escape for a holiday!


Every year my amazing extended family escapes to the south coast for our anticipated beach side holiday...

The magnificent view from our cabins.

At the end of each visit we yearn for the following year to come quickly!
I am surrounded by my creative extended family (here too) during my stay and always come back with new ideas to try and books to buy!

The place is beautiful, but it's really about the people.
